the interconnection
of city life + nature

Growing up, I’ve always been drawn more to images that capture the beauty of nature and the planet we live on. Along with the arts, I also developed a love for the outdoors and have always been exposed to the importance of conservation. Moving to a big city, I thought it was going to be hard being away from the quietude of nature that I was surrounded by in my hometown. But walking through Boston, I realized that it's a place where city life and nature combine and coexist.

Through this project, I wanted to explore the relationship between city life and nature. There is a distinct contrast between the two: the serenity and peacefulness of nature vs. the chaotic hustle and bustle of the city. The city can feel claustrophobic and overwhelming with the mass amount of people that move through it. Oppositely, in the depths of nature there is space and air which allows it to feel freeing and calm. Although the two exist and emote different feelings separately more often than not, there are places where the two intertwine. It is there where both serenity and chaos exist at the same time.
